The song "Disturbia." By Rihanna. You've probably heard it. Came out last winter. If you don't know it, please don't go look it up on YouTube or iTunes or anything. Just ask someone around you how it goes, and they'll answer, "You know, bum bum be dum, bum bum be dum dum," and you'll go "Ohhhh, yeah, that song." It's crucial to the experiment that you don't actually hear the song. Wait a while. Stop reading this post and go do something else.
Is it stuck?
That's the first phase. Second phase. Sing it around someone else. So far I've gotten two other people to absentmindedly do the "Bum bum be dum, bum bum be dum dum" once I told the story about hearing it on someone's voicemail today. I think it may be the catchiest song in recent memory. So potent that you can hear someone else sing it and you're done.
That's all.
Science!
