Living in darkness - DAY 6

Even in our powerless time of despair, we had a BREAKTHROUGH!! We all gathered together and had a 'home-cooked meal' last night. How is this possible you ask? I was asking the same thing...well, it turns out my mother knows how to make spaghetti ON A GRILL. I had no idea this was possible. It was delicious, and gave the whole team a little bit of hope.

On the downside, I spent the entire afternoon with a chainsaw, removing limbs and logs from the premises. I figure if the tree guys and duke energy are gonna be lazy, I'd do most of the work for them, so they can finally come fix the power.

Also - Dana (my lady pal) was helping me, she got stunk by a yellow jacket and it turned out we were working right by their hive. I was tempted to raid the SOB's, but then I remembered that the Honey Bee is endangered, so we spared their lives.

Lastly - we watched watched Apollo 13 via 13" Apple laptop and it felt fitting. It made me remember, even though my home-life is covered in darkness, and can't take a shower, and can't watch tv, play on the internet, grab a snack out of the refrigerator, or even see what's in my closet, at least I'm not in a rocket in outer space that has no power.
