I love this movie and just read on Geeks of Doom.com that pre-production start on Oct 8th. This has nearly all the original cast and writer/director Troy Duffy is still on board. If you've not seen the original get out there and find it...I have it by the way if you want to borrow it. But only if you are good.

I hope that's true, but I'm not counting my chickens just yet. Duffy has announced several times in the past few years that production is getting ready to start, but it never has. The chode burned every bridge in Hollywood after he finished the original, and was blackballed harder than a commie in the '50s! Anyone that likes Boondock Saints really needs to watch Overnight, a documentary about Troy Duffy and the making of the movie, and his incredibly fast fall from grace due an ego that wouldn't fit in Texas. The man has to be one of the biggest asses ever!! The reason it never got a big theatrical release is because he seriously pissed off Harvey Weinstein, and Weinstein just shelved the movie as payback. You don't upset someone that powerful, especially when he gives you one of the biggest breaks ever for a first time writer/director!!
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Boondock Saints, it's up there with anything Tarantino's done IMO. And I really do wanna see a worthy sequel. But, with Duffy's history....
Seriously, get Overnight and watch it, great documentary!
