I've worked in newspapers for the majority of my career and while I've moved on to magazines, newspapers still have a sweet spot in my heart. So when I found out that some of the photos that I took last week in Las Vegas were going to be running in The Chicago Sun Times this weekend, it took a minute for me to realize how big of a deal this was for me personally.I just remembered taking photos for the Butler County Post back in the day (2001). I would have to go to events such as the local Hee-Haw spectacular or to the annual "Let's dress up an old man in women's clothes against their will at the nursing home show." So to have photos published in a news paper like the Sun-Times is a huge honor.
I'm still a very sub-par photographer but sun shines on a dogs ass some days.
