And this picture is proof, that although you're aloof, you had the shiniest tooth 'neath the sun

Today at noon, after a cryptic email sent to their mailing list Friday, The White Stripes began selling their limited edition Lomographic cameras. And because Aluminum Aluminium Level Club 91* member Philip R. and I are a) suckers for White Stripes marketing ploys and b) idiots, we got our signals crossed and each bought a set. So now we have four. No word yet on whether we were part of the first 333 to buy a set and win a "mystery gift," which they've revealed to be one of three never-before-released posters (which is a pretty weak gift). Still, between all the planning and their store's server (I'm guessing it's just one) going down like Frazier for 40 minutes right at noon, I'm pleased with us dropping way too much money at their site today. Jack's Holga model comes with a fisheye lens and a few filters, and Meg's Diana+ model has a ringflash. What will we do with our Meg cameras (because we're sure as shit keeping Jack's)? Who knows. Throw them up on eBay, send them back, keep them on the shelf for Antiques Roadshow 2115, anything as long as we don't open them. Keep an eye on this site for some of my artsy, clove cigarette-smoking black-and-white shots of chain link fences taken with my Holga. That or goofy license plates.
