Beware of the movies this weekend...

Another lackluster weekend at the movies with perhaps one good film being released which is the Marky Mark film 'We own the night.' I did catch 'The Brave One' last Sunday and it was most worthy of a watching...but if that tells you something about the movies that are out now...because my Sunday night to watch a film I took in a Jodie Foster movie that had been out several weeks. Anyway here is a Rotten Tomatoes look at the very soon to DVD movies being released this week.

We own the Night: 51% Rotten "As always, Phoenix is an arresting presence on screen, but don't expect any Departed-esque fast talk from Wahlberg, who is oddly inert in a role that should crackle with brotherly ambivalence." - Ann Hornaday Washington Post

Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married: No reviews, which always signals GREAT FILM...however it does have Janet Jackson in it...I can't tell you if its big Janet or skinny Janet..I guess she is the new Luther Vandross.

Lars and the Real Girl: 77% Fresh "What's remarkable about Lars and the Real Girl is the tightrope that [screenwriter Nancy] Oliver finesses, aided by her director and winning cast, between improbability and reality, edgy absurdist humor and melting tenderness. It's a tonic." - Jan Stuart Newsday
