The best thing to ever come out of Jersey

This song hit #1 on the Billboard charts in 1972 and is still #1 in my heart. I can't even explain all the things going on with lead singer Elliot Lurie. He's got the knotted shirt, which looks like it was made out of old yard sale dishrags, what looks like an actual, bona fide skirt, some high heels, hair badly in need of some conditioner and an expressionless, lights-are-on-but-nobody's-home face. What probably happened was that his brain, after coming up with a masterpiece like "Brandy," was simply overtaxed and unable to function normally for the rest of his life. I think the scientific term is "blowing your wad." Sorta like what happened to Haddaway.
