My two day adventure to Seattle was brilliant. The city was great, the people for the most part were great and mother nature was amazing. However there were a few amusing items to note:
- The 17 year old girl from Chicago sitting next to me on the flight out asked me when we were landing in Seattle if we just went over Washington D.C.. Great job on that education system Illinois.
- I saw a man who hand made his own wooden framed glasses. If he lived here..he would be king of the Highlands.
- We just got some breakfast from Pike Place Market and a homeless guy drastically resembling Pookie from New Jack City asked us for some money so he could get some McDonalds. I said we didn't have any cash but we gave him a delightful raspberry pastry instead and he seemed so disappointed. I guess he was really craving McDonalds.
- I saw a guy at the airport wearing a Rex Grossman jersey.
- The last night before I left....I was up on the top of our hotel looking out to the Bay having a glass of wine when I noticed some activity in an apartment across the way. I wasn't by any means spying but it was hard not to notice the woman walking around nude with her windows open and lights fully on. Now I won't get into details but she and her man put on quite the show for downtown Seattle. It was a good night cap.
- Everything in the North Face store cost $70.
- I went to Kurt Cobain's house where he gave himself the ole Benoit. It was sorta creepy but exactly how I remembered it from the news and countless VH1 specials. It also made me think of the Dairy Queen mosh session we did in memory of him the night he died.
All in all it was a wonderful two days in the Pacific Northwest and I plan on going back next July to get the full experience.
